Istanbul Sehir University was established in 2008 by The Foundation for Science and Arts as a private, non-profit university. Its three main campuses are situated near the Bosphorus Bridge (which links Anatolian and European Istanbul) in Altunizade on the Asian side of the city; and a new main campus, Dragos campus, is nearing completion and should be in use from 2014. ISU consists of six colleges and three graduate schools, and enrolled its first cohort in 2010.
Istanbul Ticaret University (Istanbul Commerce University), was founded in 2001 by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce through it Foundation for Educational and Social Services. It is a private university and its current enrolment totals around 6,000 students.
Bahcesehir is located right in the heart of Istanbul, with two campuses situated on the Bosphorus at Besiktas and Galata, and another campus in the nearby Sisli district. There is a shuttle-ferry service especially to take students and staff between Besiktas and Galata campuses. Founded in 1998, it enrolled its first students in 1999.
Fatih University was established in 1996 by the Health and Treatment Foundation, part of the Turkish Association of Health and Medical Treatment. Its main campus is to be found in the Buyukcekmece district of Istanbul on the European side.

Istanbul Bilgi University was founded in 1996 and is a private university. Its three main cumpuses are located around central Istanbul; namely Santral Istanbul, Kustepe, and Dolapdere. The university has six faculties, two institutes, three schools and two vocational schools, offering a total of fifty-two undergraduate, forty-two graduate, and fifteen associate degree programs.

Kadir Has University is a private university founded in 1997 by the Kadir Has Charity Foundation. Located in the historic Cibali district of Istanbul, next to the Golden Horn, its main campus was once a giant tobacco factory at the heart of Istanbul’s overseas trade. It was renovated by the Kadir Has Charity Foundation and is an impressive historical building housing the university’s central library, as well as faculty offices, and classrooms etc.
