Yasar University in Izmir is a private, non-profit university located in Bornova at the Selcuk Bornova campus and with a smaller campus at Alsancak. It was established by the Selcuk Yasar Sport and Education Foundation.
The University has seven faculties, two graduate schools and a vocational school and a school of foreign languages. The primary teaching medium is English. Students can study in such areas as Communications, Engineering, Economics and Admistrative Sciences, Architecture, Art and Design, Literature, Psychology, and Law amongst others.Masters and PhD programs are in the areas of Natural and Applied Sciences, and Social Sciences.
The Foreign Language School offers preparatory classes in English, and was the first Turkish Unniversity to be accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation. Other languages on offer at the language school include Russian, Spanish, French, German, and Japanese.
